When I was 17
A glimpse into Señor Bohon’s past
Q: What high school did you go to?
A: I attended Beaver Falls High School.
Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was at Shop N’ Save in East Rochester.
Q: What was your first car?
A: My first car was a Pontiac Phoenix. It was silver with red interior.
Q: What did you like to do in your free time?
A: I used to like to go to all of the sports events at Beaver Falls with my friends. We went to all of the football games and basketball games, but I played baseball, so I enjoyed playing baseball also.
Q: Where did you like to spend time at?
A: We spent time at the Beaver Valley Mall. We hung out at Jerry’s Curb Service, Hank’s and D&G Pizza.
Q: How would you describe yourself as a 17 year old?
A: Not as good looking as I am now, but probably in better shape.
Q: What did you plan on going to college for?
A: Originally, I wanted to be a history teacher, but I had trouble staying awake in my first two history classes in college, and I was good at Spanish, so I decided to try Spanish.
Q: What was your favorite memory?
A: The times that I traveled to Ohio with friends to go to BMX competitions and shows.
Q: If you could go back and change anything, what would it be?
A: If I could change anything about high school or what I did, I think I would’ve continued to play baseball. I quit sometime during my last year or so of school, and I always regretted not playing my last year of baseball.
Q: How have things changed from then to now?
A: Now, I have a wife and two sons, and instead of spending all of my time on myself, I devote all of my time to my children. Plus I have a little bit more money; a little bit.
Q: Do you have any advice for your students?
A: As much as you sometimes feel that you hate school and hate to do your homework, I would work as hard as you can because all of the hard work that you do now in the coming years will decide how much money you make for the rest of your life.
