With this year’s swim season coming to an end, the swim team faces two more meets and the MAC tournament. Each swimmer has been improving in their meets. “I feel successful in the way that I definitely did my best during the meet and tried my hardest to get there,” Junior Ally Wolf said. This is a great accomplishment for all the athletes, since so many of them are new to the team, and to swimming itself, this year. “The team is very supportive to new members. We love getting new people on the team. When we get a new member we all help out and try to get them good enough to compete as soon as they can,” Sophomore Meghan Bohach said. With so much time dedicated to practices and meets, the athletes have serious schedule adjustments for swimming season. Balancing school work, swimming, plus any other extracurricular activities, the swimmers find ways to keep themselves going. “The normal day in the life of a swimmer is to go to the pool after school, swim your heart out, eat as much as you can, then after homework is taken care of it’s time for a good night’s rest,” Wolf said. The swimmers hope to fulfill their goals this season and improve overall as a team. “My goal is to quit psyching myself out so much. Hopefully if I can accomplish this goal, I can get myself to MACs and possibly WPIALS,” Bohach said. The team anticipates finishing their season on a successful note by getting their best times and doing well in their meets.
