School board revises public comment policy
At the May 7 board meeting, the school board voted to expand the requirements for people who want to speak at school meetings to “residents or taxpayers of this district or anyone representing a group in the community or school district; any representative of a firm eligible to bid on materials or services solicited by the Board; any district employee, any district student, or any non-resident non-custodial parent(s)/guardian(s).”
Quill and Scroll welcomes new members
On May 13, the Freedom Area chapter of the Quill and Scroll society welcomed 3 new members to its ranks, including junior Keith Pawlowski and seniors Steven Buerkle and Casey Collins.
Distract staff puts together videos for class of 2020
Across a six-part series, staff members shared words of support for the senior class in videos that were posted to the school district’s social media pages across a span of three weeks.
