STUDENT GOVERNMENT FUNDRAISES FOR STUDENT BODY
Student Government is hosting a Volleyball Tournament, which is currently set to take place on Wednesday, Jan. 8. After school teams that enter will be given a chance to show their talent. The above all team that wins will play against a team of teachers during a PLT. The money being raised is expected to be used for the student body. “We’re thinking of doing a nice little shindig towards the end of the year with maybe bringing a catering food truck for the student body,” Student Government advisor Mr. Nathaniel Langelli said.
STUDENTS GET LONGER WINTER BREAK
Students will be given time off for winter break, making Friday, Dec. 20 the last day of school. The regular school schedule will pick back up on Jan. 6. This time will commonly be used to spend time with family and friends during the holiday season.
CLUBS GATHER FOR GROUP PICTURES
Club photos will take place when students return from winter break during Personalized Learning Time the week of Jan. 6. All club members are to report to the designated photo area on their specified day after an announcement is made.
DECA STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR STATES
On Friday, Dec. 13, several students participated in the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competition at North Allegheny Senior High School. Three students qualified for the state event in their respective categories. Christopher Denkovich (12) placed second, Calla Reynolds (11) placed third and Colton Blank (11) placed third. These students will attend the state competition at Harrisburg in February.
DISTRICT PRESENTS THINK AWARD
On Dec. 13, Ms. Miranda Santa was awarded the December THINK award. Her nomination was voted on by the student body. She is the 13th recipient of this award.
DRAMA CLUB VISITS VICARY MANSION
The high school Drama Club visited the Vicarcy Mansion on Dec. 7 to perform a special reading of “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Students performed for the mansion’s annual Christmas event.
JOURNALISM STUDENT RECEIVES QUILL AND SCROLL AWARD
