It’s January. It’s winter. There was snow. Of course I picked a winter-kind-of-snowy-type movie. And yes, it was terrible. The movie that I hope no one watches ever again is called Frozen. The basic storyline goes like this: Three friends go skiing for the weekend. Dan, who is dating Parker (it’s a girl, I promise), and Joe. They want to get one last run down the mountain before it closes for the night. They bribe the employee into letting them go down one more time after he already closed the lift. Long story short, something happens that would never happen in real life, and they get stuck on the ski lift. First of all, you need to understand that the movie was done well. There was great acting, cool cinematography, it was well-written and had good music; everything that is needed for a good film, this film had. When I say it was terrible, it is because of the way it made me feel after I watched it. You know how when you leave a theater, or you finish up a movie at home, you feel satisfied? This movie did exactly the opposite. The more I watched, the worse it made me feel. It was just one horrible event happening to these people after another. First they get stuck, then Dan breaks both of his legs trying to jump off and get help. Next, Parker gets horrible frostbite. They tried climbing the cable down the lift, but it cut their hands because it was sharp. I could honestly go on, and it gets way worse, trust me. The ending isn’t even happy. Parker survives, and man-ages to fall off the lift without hurting herself too badly, but even though one of them survived, it was still a really sad and depressing movie to watch. I feel as though every film, or book, or article has a purpose. And if the people who created this film had a purpose to depress me, then they deserve an award. Even though I hated this movie, and wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone, I have to give it 6 out of 10, and here’s why: everything about this movie was great, from the actors to the soundtrack. Because of how well it was made, this movie was almost okay. If it had one less dollar on its budget, it would have been the worst movie ever. I still think anyone out there who can handle a boat load of sadness should watch this movie, but oth-erwise, maybe you shouldn’t.
