On Friday May 9, Freedom Area High School students came together to create a lip dub. A lip dub is a music video where various students lip sync to a song while moving throughout a school. Mrs. Kristen Milanovich, the high school multimedia teacher, was in charge of planning and organizing the event.
“The lip dub was something I’ve been wanting to try for a few years now, but once I saw Seneca Valley’s and North Hills’s lip dubs I wanted to bring it to Freedom,” Milanovich said. “I think it turned out well, and we got a lot of students involved. I’m looking forward to doing this again next year.”
Over the past few months Milanovich’s multimedia students have created a route for the lip dub, advertised for the event and signed up other FHS students to participate.
As the camera went throughout school, various extra-curricular activities, clubs and sports teams were represented. Finally, the lip dub concluded with a “color blast” where colored chalk packets were released.
The song “Footloose” by Christian Beck was chosen by FHS students for our lip dub. Christian Beck, a Freedom graduate, also made a guest appearance in the lip dub.
“I would love to do it again, especially after everybody knows about it. The lip dub was very exciting. None of this would have been possible without Mrs. Milanovich,” Sophomore Levi Bonzo said.
