It’s December, meaning it’s that time of the year again when the turkey is put away, the scents of pine needles and cookies rise into the air and Christmas is coming fast.
Have you ever tuned in to a radio station and there it is, the first Christmas song of the season? Many people have different opinions on when it’s too soon to begin playing their favorite Christmas jingles. It’s a heavily debated topic for something as little as a three-minute song that you’ll end up hearing many times over the winter season.
The second the clock strikes midnight and November 1st officially hits the calendars, many Christmas-goers are the first to start playing the holiday music. Whether or not it’s something you listen to it’s something that will always be played at this time of the year.
“To me too soon would be the start of November,” Senior Alexis Ball said on the topic.
From one household to another household, Christmas lights and holiday cheer begins to spread throughout neighborhoods all around America. The widespread Christmas spirit has is often shown through joy, festive lights or recognizable sweet smells; altogether, it is a happy time of the year.
“I think it’s a great thing because Christmas music brings so much joy and happiness and everyone deserves to get into the Christmas spirit,” Ball said.
Every holiday has something special about it: Independence Day has fireworks, Thanksgiving has a feast and Christmas has a large variety of specialties. For each family, there’s a number of things that could be celebrated around this time of the year. For most this is the time for giving and spending time with your family. For others, it may just be providing for your family and giving the best possible Christmas that you can. There can never be enough ways to how someone may celebrate this holiday season, it’s just the way we rejoice Christmas in this country.
