During Personalized Learning Time (PLT) on Monday, June 3, Cafe 116 held a fundraiser for a boy named Henry John. When John was just one year old, doctors found a tumor in his brain, which led to cancer. Since the doctors found a tumor in his brain, he has been on a journey of struggles ever since. John and his family live out in Fresno, California. Cafe 116 held a lemonade stand available to students during PLT, where all profits went to ‘Alex’s Lemonade Stand’, a nonprofit organization that funds pediatric research. The fundraiser started on Monday and lasted throughout the week. Ms. Abigayle Pritchard and Ms. Jessica Paganie held the fundraiser to honor John and his family.
