The boys’ basketball season came to an end as two seniors, Matthew Feits and Andrew Teny, put on their uniforms to play their last two high school games ever on Feb. 10 and 12.
On Feb. 10, the athletes played a game against Rochester at Freedom High School. This game resulted in a loss for Freedom with the final score being 77-56. The boys kept up with the other team’s pace.
The game on Feb. 12 was the last home game of the 2013-2014 season. The bulldogs were up against Greenwood. The boys were victorious, with a final score of 53-45. This is the team’s first win of the season.
The boys’ final record was 1-21.
With the record being what it was, Teny was still understanding with the result of the season. “It was a learning season because we had a new coach, [but] everyone did improve,” Teny said.
Sophomore Evin Diciero feels that by working hard in the summer, the team will improve when it comes time for next season. “We have to work very hard in the summer to get it next year,” Diciero said.
Although the season might be over, “I am already looking forward to next year’s season. I plan to improve as an individual and as a team by practicing in the summer and working on my skills,” Freshman Devin Daley said.
The boys plan on having a better season next year. They will just have to keep their heads high and practice hard during the off-season. They hope to see playoffs in the future.
“If we work during the off-season and focus on improving then we should see better results in upcoming years,” Daley said.
